About Us
After moving to Montrose in 1992, Harold and Yvonne Williamson turned their love of cooking smoked meat into a bar-b-que business. In 2003, Blue Ribbon Bar-B-Que was born.
While initially the business was primarily a catering business, it quickly grew to include festivals and special events.

By 2012, the business was too big for the Williamsons. They wanted the business to be a hobby, something to do every now and then. They decided to retire and closed the business.
In 2014, their daughter, Sherry Merritt, back in Texas in her career as a banker, decided it was time for a change of direction. The food truck industry was on the verge of explosion and seemed like Texas style bar-b-que would be a great type of food to offer. She enlisted a friend of 10 years, Amanda Somerville, to get the business off the ground. Amanda lived in Arizona so they decided to take the food truck to Arizona during the winter months and to Montrose during the summer months.

In 2019, Blue Ribbon continues to gain momentum and grow. While they offer a wide selection of smoked meats with all the fixin’s during the week, you can also find them at various festivals and special events all over the western slope of Colorado during the summer months and the Phoenix area during the winter months.
